SCCI provides engineering and technical services for development and support of management information systems and relational database applications.
Our Experience
Our current database application products include:
- Advanced Configuration Control and Engineering Status System (ACCESS)
- Safety Multi-Relational Assessment Risk Tool (SMART)
- Navy Modernization Plan (NMP)
- Virtual Integrated Engineering War Room Network (VIEWNet)
- Retrofit/Upgrade Installation Database (RUGID)
- Product Data Tracker (PDT)
- Logistics Issue Tracking System (LITS)
Our Services
We have experience:
- Transitioning data from one system to another via data fusing
- Migrating legacy systems to newer technology
- Integrating newer technology into existing applications
- Providing Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) tool customization, including IBM Rational Tools, Jira, and SharePoint
We use a structured development approach with Agile/Kanban project management tools to monitor and manage progress.
We use an Agile approach for the strategy, analysis, design, build, and transition phases. This approach provides these benefits:
- A self-organized team
- Requirements captured as items in a list or product backlog
- Product development progresses in a series of sprints, which are:
- Time-boxed, protected, iterative, and incremental
- A fixed period of time that the team works on items in the product backlog
- Two weeks to a calendar month in duration
- When product is designed, coded, and tested
Our Requirements, Testing, and Training (RT&T) team quality checks our test phase. They provide the following benefits:
- Reduce the number of issues by instituting peer review quality control that validates builds against customer requirements.
- Organize and facilitate testing by end users to ensure customer acceptance and satisfaction with the end product.
We perform a final quality control check during the production phase. This provides the following benefits:
- Database Administrators (DBA) review and instantiate the configuration item updates.
- RT&T follows up with verification of the instantiated new functionality.
We use our experience in relational and object-oriented database design and web-application design utilizing various toolsets, such as:
- Java
- Oracle tools and infrastructure, including:
- JDeveloper
- Forms
- Reports
- Business Intelligence Enterprise Edition (OBIEE)
- Application Express (APEX)
- Application Development Framework (ADF)
- WebLogic Servers
- Oracle HTTP Servers (OHS)
- Oracle tools and infrastructure, including:
- Hypertext Preprocessor (PHP)
- ASP.net
- Extensible Markup Language (XML)
- Extensible Style Language (XSL)
- Internet Application Servers (IAS)
- HTML
- Cascading Style Sheets (CSS)
- JavaScript
- Microsoft SharePoint Designer
- Linux and Windows Operating Environments (OE)
Our Competitive Edge
We take the following approaches to deliver a better application:
- We build our software using an Agile approach.
- Our independent RT&T and DBA support teams perform extensive verification and validation of customer requirements and product implementation.
- An RT&T group to work directly with end users and stakeholders to understand business processes and provide information flow analysis. This approach allows our team to better understand how your groups work together to prevent duplication of data or other potential problems.
- Focus application development on the end user.
This produces an intuitive User Interface (UI) design that includes ad hoc reporting and query tools to increase application usability and flexibility.
